  • Q: If you want to visit one of the countries in the Schengen territory, at which Consulate do I apply for a visa?

    Ans: You must apply at the Consulate of a country you are intending to go. If you are planning to visit several countries, you need to apply at the Embassy of the country of the longest intended period of stay or the country where you will cross the border first.

  • Q: Can I just come to the Consulate of Spain and apply right away?

    Ans: No, you will need to schedule an appointment first in order to submit your visa application

  • Q: How early can I apply?

    Ans: Applicants are free to apply up to 180 days prior to their date of travel. However, all applications must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays. This period is extended to 9 months in the case of the seamen.

  • Q: How long do I have to wait for the Visa once I submit my application?

    Ans: In most cases, you will be informed within 15 calendar days whether your application has been successful. Sometimes it can take up to 60 days in case it is necessary to make a more detailed examination of the application.

  • Q: Where Do I pay the Visa Fees?

    Ans: After submission of the visa application at the visa application center an applicant pays a service charge and the Visa Fee directly at the Visa Application Centre. Please note that Visa Fee is in Moroccan Dirham and is decided by the Spanish consulate.

  • Q: Do I have to apply personally?

    Ans: Applications have to be submitted by the applicant in person for the taking of fingerprints and digital photography.

  • Q: Can my passport be collected by someone else?

    Ans: Application/Passport can be collected either by the applicant in person or through an authorized representative that has an authority letter.

    The passport is delivered personally to its holder, or to his legal representative when it is a minor or a major placed under guardianship.

  • Q: Can I live in Spain having a short term visa?

    Ans: No. Short term visa enables you to stay in Spain for the period of its validity only. According to the law in the area of rights and matters of foreigners in Spain, in order to settle in Spain, you must have a necessary settlement or National Spain visa.   • Q: Do I need to have a medical insurance?

    Ans: Yes. Medical insurance is an important part of the dossier.

  • Q: What do I do if I am refused?

    Ans: If you consider it to be reasonable, you can appeal against the refMoroccol. In case of a refMoroccol the Consulate will provide you with a refMoroccol letter mentioning the terms and the place where you can appeal.   • Q: If I am refused, should I wait for some time before applying for a visa again?

    Ans: No. The Consulate recommends you to apply again only if you think that the circumstances that could have caused the refMoroccol have changed.

  • Q: How can I make an appointment?

    Ans: All Schengen visa appointments can be made using the BLS Website Appointment page

  • Q: Do I have to pay for the appointment?

    Ans: No, there is no fee/charge for booking an appointment. However, applicant has to pre-pay the BLS service fee in order to confirm appointment on BLS International website.

  • Q: How can I make payment for the appointment?

    Ans: The payment for the appointment can be made using any Moroccan bank issued debit or credit card

  • Q: I have a debit card issued in Spain or another country but not Moroccan, can I make an appointment?

    Ans: No, only debit cards issued by a bank in Morocco can make an appointment

  • Q: Do I have to open a bank account in Barid Bank?

    Ans: No it is not necessary to open a bank account in Barid bank, you can use any debit card or credit card issued by any Moroccan bank and valid in Morocco

  • Q: Is this the same for national and long-term visa appointments as well?

    Ans: No This is only for Schengen visa

  • Q: if i don't have a debit or a credit card ,can i pay at barid cash?

    Ans: No you cannot pay cash at Barid bank, this is valid only for people who can pay online

  • Q: are you going to keep my debit card details with you?

    Ans: No debit card details will be stored in accordance with the data protection law of Morocco

  • Q: what if i don't have a bank account?

    Ans: The service is only for citizens who had a debit or credit card payment facility

  • Q: can i use my Friend's debit card to pay the appointment?

    Ans: No, only the card of the applicant can be used. Trave agency, third parties or other people’s cards cannot be used. It is only for the applicant themself to pay
